2009 Action Plan

Over the past two years, action plan volunteers have been working to implement the project ideas from the 2009 Summit. Below are some of the highlights of what they’ve accomplished:

Wayne Ave Corridor. In an effort to make downtown more walkable, volunteers have been beautifying a stretch of street to help connect the Oregon District with the Cannery.

The group has organized street clean-up days, hosted a competition for local artists to paint murals underneath the train overpass, and brought community attention to the area. And they’re not done. More murals are planned, an urban garden is in the works, plus the group is soliciting support for additional lighting to brighten the area.

Online Resource Hub.
In every session, 2009 Summit attendees said they had trouble finding info—for entertainment, volunteer opportunities, recreation & more. So volunteers launched the premier online magazine for the region: www.daytonmostmetro.com

DaytonMostMetro is more than just a website; it’s a forum for the community to share events and ideas, with the power to connect organizations from around the region with one online calendar of activities.
