Title: Business Diversity Training
Author: Sam Kligerman
The Idea: The black entrepreneurial tradition so strongly evident in many downtowns up until World War II did not survive intergration in many areas and was totally wiped out in others by urban renewal and highway clearance programs. The riots of the 1960s didn’t help either. I believe the Dayton community can be trained to renew that entrepreneurial heritage.
With the help of Sinclair Community College and mentors who’ve done it before, we can help minority small business owners with entrepreneurial assistance programs with starting their own business. Learning from mentors to inspire the next generation to try to start their own business would greatly benefit the local economy.
