Streetvival Fall Work Day

October 4th, 2012  |  Published in Upcoming Events

The Streetvival Team, which came out of the neighborhoods and communities break-out at the 2012 Summit, has been hard at work. Their partnership with the Twin Towers Neighborhood and East End Community Center has resulted in a project to create a pocket park at Xenia Ave and McClure Street. Now they need your help getting things started! Join the Streetvival team next weekend for their Fall Work Weekend. On Saturday, October 13th at 10AM meet at the intersection of Xenia Ave and McClure Street to prep and prime the adjacent wall to the pocket park and plant trees. On Sunday the 14th at 1PM, return to cover the wall with chalkboard paint. To volunteer, RSVP to streetvival@gmail.com.

The team will host another work day in the spring to complete the pocket park. In the meantime, the team will be launching a fundraising campaign to raise additional funds to buy the supplies needed to finalize the park design. The final design will include a small stage, a little library, outdoor seating, and a colorful mural.
