Title: Dayton Do-Gooders
The Idea: Okay so that name isn’t so catchy. There’s probably something more appropriate but the idea is that we have alot of people looking to do good things but no real way of pulling together resources to make things happen. At http://fortheloveofdayton.wordpress.com and at the DaytonMostMetro Forum is an idea that has taken off in other cities where people come together, donate money, decide who should receive the money and then take it one step further and actually get involved in some of the initiatives. In Cleveland it’s called the Cleveland Collectivo. Check it out. Between Updayton, Generation Dayton, and the United Way there’s no reason such a group couldn’t exist here! The Dayton Foundation might even be interested in letting the group create a charitable checking account!
