Further Influence the Miami Valley’s Cycling Agenda:

Experience, learn, and engage with other Miami Valley cyclists, leaders and residents at the Miami Valley Cycling Summit. The all-star line-up of guests is sure to inspire and educate us all. Jeff Mapes, author of “Pedaling Revolution” will open the event sharing with us how the culture and development of American cities is changing, with cyclists leading the charge. Andrea White-Kjoss, from the Bike Station Coalition, will discuss how the incorporation of bicycle transit centers into the transportation network can provide a complete system resulting in cleaner air, safer streets and healthier living. Other guests include representatives from the League of American Bicyclists, the Alliance for Biking and Walking, Bicycling for Louisville, Bike Chattanooga, and Consider Biking in Columbus.

“Why now,” you might ask? Well, why not now? There has never been a better time to relook at how we live, work, move and play in the Miami Valley. The Complete Streets movement isn’t about getting in front of the curve, it is about keeping up. Communities across the region are spending tens of millions of dollars on infrastructure to make their communities more people friendly. Complete Streets puts people on the streets, which creates vibrancy, bringing new business, entertainment, and culture, which we discuss so often when referring to how we turn our situation around.

Regardless of your motive, organizational affiliation or specific bike you ride, it is vital to the success of the region and the bike friendly initiative that there is a diversified representation of communities throughout the region.
