It’s time to volunteer for updayton’s Creative Communities -”Unifying the Divide: Bridge Paint Project!” Mark your calendars for June 2nd! We’re very excited to see the Dayton Wags design come to life!

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

CALCITE CAVALIERS – Chalk the design on the bridge (individuals with artistic or architectural experience ONLY should sign up for this job)
CHORUS OF COLOR – Use the paint-by-number tool to fill in color
BRIDGE CREW – Will do a final sweep of the bridge before chalking
PAINT CREW – Will help with set-up and clean-up for the Chorus of Color and Lead Liner shifts. Will directly assist the design team, the Dayton Wags.
CROWD CONTROL – Will monitor who is allowed on the bridge
VOLUNTEER MOTIVATORS – Will assist with activities, registration, and the volunteer food/beverage table
CLEAN-UP CREW – self explanatory…

SCHEDULE:

7:00 AM – Bridge Crew does final sweep of bridge
7:45 AM – Crowd Control volunteers arrive 1st shift
8:00 AM – CALCITE CAVALIERS begin to chalk design on the bridge
9:00 AM – Volunteers arrive for Paint Crew and Volunteer Motivators
9:30 AM – CHORUS OF COLOR Section 1
10:00 AM – CHORUS OF COLOR Section 2
10:30 AM – CHORUS OF COLOR Section 3
11:00 AM – CHORUS OF COLOR Section 4
11:30 AM – CHORUS OF COLOR Section 5
12:00 PM – CHORUS OF COLOR Section 6

Any children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

WEATHER
In the event of rain we will postpone the project and you will be notified of the new date.

PARKING
We encourage you to walk if you are a neighbor of South Park or the Oregon District. There is parking available on Buckeye Street in front of the bridge or at Emerson Academy which can be accessed on Hickory St. CLICK HERE FOR A MAP OF THE EVENT.

REGISTRATION
All volunteers must arrive on time for their shift and you must register to get a wristband! You cannot start to paint, volunteer, or receive food tickets until you have a wristband.

THINGS TO BRING
- Your water bottle! Take Back the Tap will be there!
- Sunscreen
- Your paint clothes! Be prepared to get messy. Don’t wear clothes you might like to wear on a date later. (Sorry-have to be Captain Obvious.)
- Cash – if you volunteer, you will receive a couple tickets for free food. Other food vendors will also be on hand.
- Your friends!
